NB Waterwitch

Narrowboat Water witch

Yes it's true, after 9 years and 6 cruisers we have moved over to the dark side and have purchased Water witch, a 40 foot narrowboat moored on the Lancaster Canal.

We honestly weren't looking to buy a narrowboat but we were taking a walk around the marina one fine evening and when we noticed the for sale sign we were being nosey looking through the windows when a friend of the owners handed us a set of keys.
The rest is history.

She is in good shape and has a lovely 'feel' when you step aboard so we won't be making any huge changes to her, with the exception of everyday maintenance or breakages, accidents etc.

Here are some pictures of Water witch just before we took possession.

There are a couple of modifications since these pictures were taken, namely the extra fridge freezer has been removed, she was a live aboard until recently, and the two seater settee has been removed to accommodate two single chairs that convert into  single beds, or a large double if need be.

Kathy has changed the curtains and galley blinds to match the colour scheme onboard and I fitted energy efficient LED lights, replacing the brass roof mounted ones.

New seating which turns into 2x singles or 1x large double

Slightly rearranged cabin area

New Curtains

The one that started it all, 67714 MV Katie, Sadly no longer with us.
Photo was taken outside the WaterWitch pub in Lancaster.

Pictures of our fleet hung on the walls.

We finally had almost a full week on board Water Witch and she fared extremely well for us, travelling all the way to the canal terminus at Tewitfield and back to her moorings in 4 days.
